How do I declare or change my major? What is the procedure?
Declaring your major is a three-step process. First, schedule an appointment with an academic advisor by calling (313) 577-2680 if you are declaring a major in either the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences or the College of Fine, Performing & Communication Arts. Bring a copy of your unofficial transcript to your meeting. We will begin the paperwork and you will be given the originals to take to your major department for signatures and a plan of work. Finally, you take the signed forms to the appropriate college office.
You change your major by declaring a new major.
