Writing Intensive Requirement
UGE 1000 (Information Power) was required for all freshmen and students who transferred to WSU with less than 13 credits and were first enrolled between Summer 1987 and Summer 2005. Effective Fall 2005, this requirement was suspended for all students regardless of date of matriculation.
University Center at MacombThe University Center, located on the Center Campus of Macomb Community College at Garfield and Hall Road (M-59), offers students the opportunity to earn a Wayne State University degree in the following areas:
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (Electromechanical Engineering Technology)
Bachelor of Arts with a major in English, Mathematics, Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology, Journalism, Public Relations, and Speech Communication
Bachelor of Science with a major in Mathematics or Psychology
Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies
Bachelor of Technical & Interdisciplinary Studies
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Bachelor of Social Work
While it is theoretically possible for a student to do all required work for the degree at Macomb and University Center, practical considerations make that unlikely even with careful planning from the start. The majority of courses at University Center are offered in the afternoon and evening with a part-time population in mind. Students attending Macomb who wish to follow a Wayne State program at University Center and to do as much work there as possible should be advised to complete all Competency and Group Requirements at MCC since Wayne generally will not offer courses at University Center that will fulfill lower-division requirements.
